About

Meet Chef Larry

I have a diverse culinary background with over thirty years of professional food service experience. I began cooking as a child and by age 16; I was working in restaurants and quickly worked my way up in the restaurant industry.

I received my formal culinary training at the Academy of Culinary Arts in Mays Landing, New Jersey and have a BS in Environmental Science from Johnson State College in Vermont. I have traveled the country extensively, as well as to Europe and Mexico while enjoying the diverse regional cultures and cuisines.

Working in a number of area restaurants, I developed my own personal style of cooking with a strong focus on local ingredients, healthy fare and multi-ethnic cuisines. In 1998 I opened my restaurant, Adam’s Apple Café in Morrisville, Vermont which I ran for four years. In 2002, I closed the restaurant and I began Thyme 2 Dine Personal Chef Service.

Today, I Live in northern, Vermont and enjoy my career as a Personal Chef. I continue to prepare quality meals for my clients and enjoy experimenting with new ingredients, techniques, and recipes.

I look forward to the opportunity to cook for you soon.

Testimonials

What our customers are saying!

"Larry's meal was out of this world!!! And to have it served in our own home was such a treat. The best part was that Larry left my kitchen spotless. We had such a good time with Larry I treated my family to his services again over the holidays. Once again he did not disappoint. I would recommend Larry for a wonderful dining experience in the comfort of your own home. "

Chef Larry's Dinner was by far the highlight of our weekend in Stowe Vermont. We had a group of 12 women, and there were rave reviews from all. Everything was delicious and very appealing from the appetizers to the main entree. Thank you Chef Larry!

"Larry catered a holiday party for my office colleagues at my home In Waterbury. He is awesome and I highly recommend him and will be hiring Larry again. Larry is professional to work with; he helped me select the perfect menu over the phone and arrived on time. All of the food he prepared was beautifully presented and delicious. Larry's food is high quality and he includes local ingredients. We loved the Jasper Hill Farm cheeses! He quickly figured out where to find everything in my kitchen and left it clean. Having Larry was pleasant and made for a successful gathering".

"Larry has worked for us as a private chef for the past five years and I can say without hesitation that we consider him part of the family. He is not only a gifted chef, but a person that you can trust in your home. He is also a very kind-hearted and likable person. We’ve seen housekeepers come and go but Larry has been the one constant in our home. What he can do with a maple-peppercorn roasted chicken - well let me say, it takes us merely minutes to leave nothing but bones. We are constantly amazed at the variety and quality of food he prepares from healthy vegetarian dishes to bone licking BBQ ribs - Larry can cook it. He has a very unassuming way about him and is very responsive to feedback and our individual food preferences. We consider him one of the great finds we have come across. He is a needle in a haystack, the real deal, and we’re proud to recommend him".
